Series: Journal With Me
By Charmaine LaFondé
My year began with one word: restoration.
But instead of things appearing to be in a state of restoration, it sometimes feels like things are getting tore up from the floor up.
Then came the whisper, red-lettered and still true:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”—Matthew 11:28
Sarai’s story hit me different this time. She wasn’t bamboozled. She brainstormed a workaround.Tired of waiting. Desperate to make it happen.
News alert, Sarai: God's promises don’t wobble under time. She found that out. She handed Hagar over to her husband, then hated what grew from it.
Here’s what I’m learning: Obedience isn't about action alone--it's about alignment. And sometimes, alignment means sitting down and shutting up until He says move.
Rest is trust in motion.
Journal With Me: Where have you tried to “fix” what God already finished? Are you reacting…or responding from a rested place?
